Parenting Plans: National Sporting Events
Watching football (especially the big game in February) has historically been an exciting day for many families. Between the memorable commercials, the game itself, celebrity sightings, and yummy crockpot food- it is a day that families look forward to throughout the year. Even so, it is often (along with other professional sporting events) not included in most parenting plans.
Are sports a big part of your family culture? Or maybe you have a newfound interest in the game because of who will be there? Either way, discussing professional sporting events during family mediation just makes logistical sense for some families. Families can treat these events as big as (or even bigger than) holidays such as Christmas or Easter- so there is usually no reason not to consider them while mediating your divorce or family dispute.
